and citizens involved in environmental programming for our children. More

Recycling
Initiatives
KEB encourages computer printer
inkjet cartridges recycling by providing postage-paid envelopes for
proper disposal at locations throughout Evanston. KEB's Green Team also
supports SWANCC's athletic shoe recycling program in our schools during
April. Also, old cell phones may be dropped off for recycling at the
Ecology Center, 2024 McCormick Blvd. or Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave.

School Garden Initiative
The KEB Green School Team supports
environmental awareness by encouraging school gardens in all Evanston
schools. Schools are eligible to apply for "seed money" to
start or support their gardening projects. More

Trashbusters
Week
Held in April during Earth
Month we clean up a winter's worth of litter. This is a great event
for groups or individuals to volunteer a couple of hours of time
and gain great satisfaction. More info
Walter Lucansky Environmental Stewardship
Award
Awarded annually to a person
who has shown through personal action his or her commitment to
preservation of natural resources. This award is named after an
Evanston citizen who firmly believed "that one man's junk
is another man's treasure." More
